You could smell the hot dogs, brats and hamburgers on the grill. The sun was shining beautifully and smiles were everywhere as 57 people were welcomed into the Grand Rapids First church family.

Hosted and greeted by the best Associate Pastors and volunteers, you immediately felt community. Although the primary reason for the evening’s gathering was to find out all you needed to know about what it means to be a part of the Grand Rapids First family, there was much more imparted into each person. The recurring theme throughout the evening was that we cannot do Christianity alone. We need each other to grow each other. We learn together and grow together.

Fifty-seven people committed to live in covenant with God and each other in the church family. After two years of attending, Brenda Fuentes was excited about the Friday option which afforded her the opportunity to attend the Membership Class and join the Grand Rapids First family. High school junior, Rachel Wanjiru, said, “I just want to be a part of the church family.” Therese Larabee said, “I want to be part of the local church for the glory of the Lord Jesus!”

It’s such a blessing that 57 people have chosen to join our church family and support the mission given by our Lead Pastor, Pastor Sam, which is “Bringing people to Christ and equipping them to be like Him.” If you would like to join our church family, our next Membership Class is Saturday, September 23, in the Prayer Chapel from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

To all of our new brothers and sisters, congratulations and WELCOME HOME!
